What is CBD?
Cannabidiol, or CBD, is one of several naturally occurring cannabinoids found in the flowers and leaves of the hemp plant. Unlike the more famous cannabinoid, tetrahydrocannabinol or THC, CBD is not psychotropic, meaning, it wont change your state of mind or make you “high”.
Will I get high?
A common misconception is that CBD produces a psychotropic high because it is derived from cannabis plants. Although CBD can produce some noticeable effects, it does not make people feel high like other cannabinoids do, namely tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is found in marijuana.
What’s the difference between CBD and THC?
Both compounds are found in Hemp and Marijuana, however THC is the compound that gets people “high” and is the illegal substance. CBD on the other hand is legal and will not get you high. CBD is one of many compounds found in Cannabis plants and it is one of the most researched, with scientific studies showing there could be many therapeutic benefits on the body.
Is CBD legal?
CBD is completely legal in the UK and EU, so don’t worry! All the products we stock are certified and contain under 1% for Switzerland and under the 0.2% of THC allowed in the UK and EU.
Is CBD addictive?
In short – no. CBD is a non-addictive chemical compound found in the cannabis plant. The body cannot build a high tolerance to CBD, and it is also a non-intoxicating substance. The substance in the cannabis or marijuana plant that has addictive properties is THC, and CBD oils do not contain enough THC to get someone high or cause someone to be addicted to CBD.
Can I travel with your products?
This is a hard question. Technically, CBD is legal in many countries, however entering some with CBD can be tricky. We should recommend checking with your airline before you travel.
Are there any side effects?
CBD is generally well tolerated and considered safe. As with any other supplement, there is a chance that it could cause adverse reactions for some people, and/ or could interact with certain medications. As with any dietary supplement, consult your physician before use if you are pregnant, nursing, have or suspect a medical condition or are taking any medications.
Can I take your products if I am pregnant, breastfeeding or under 18?
There’s no conclusive evidence that shows taking CBD during pregnancy is (or isn’t) safe. Many experts say it’s best to err on the side of caution and skip CBD while pregnant until scientists better understand how it affects your body and growing baby. The same goes for mums who are breast feeding.
If you’re under 18, it is not illegal to use CBD products, but we ask that you are 18 or over to purchase on our site.
How much CBD should I take?
Dosage frequency and amounts are at the user’s discretion, with a maximum daily dose of 200mg. New users are recommended to start low and go slow.
