100% of the plant is used in one way or another

Holyworld follows a dynamic production process that has consistently evolved since we started cultivating cannabis in 2017. Our cannabis is grown between May and October in multiple fields situated in the Cantons of Vaud and Valais on the shores of Lake Geneva and the Alps. With the constant supervision of expert global botanists and engineers, we have created the most advanced and cleanest cannabis production process in Europe.

1. The Mother Plant

Seeding or cloning are the two ways that one can successfully grow a cannabis plant. Holyworld uses clones to ensure our plants are the unsurpassed. Cannabis mother plants guarantee genetic consistency, meaning that each new generation will have a homogenous taste, flavour, and effect.

Production

2. Infant Clones

Our clones are genetically identical cuttings that are planted and grown into cannabis plants. When selecting a mother clone, we solely use healthy, sturdy plants that are at least two months into their vegetative cycle.

Production

3. Flowering

The flowering stage is a three to four-week process, though, this time can vary by the strain. The flowering stage starts when we switch to a 50/50 light schedule (meaning 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness per day).

Production

4. Harvesting

It takes around eight weeks for indoor cannabis plants to finish the flowering, though, It takes longer for outdoor cannabis plants to grow, usually ranging from fourteen to twenty weeks. When the plants reach fruitage, we begin cut off the crops.

Production

5. Drying

Drying the cannabis plants is done immediately after harvest.

The ideal conditions for drying cannabis are temperatures between 18-23 degrees Celsius with humidity levels around 45-55%. This three-week process takes place in complete darkness as UV light from the sun or artificial lights could damage some of the cannabinoids or terpenes in the flowers.

Production

6. Trimming

The trimming process, combines machine and hand trimming.

First, our machines remove the large fan leaves, trim or remove the remaining leaves near the flowers, and remove the flowers themselves from the stems. Following this, all buds get a manual custom cut to ensure that the strain’s particular characteristics shine through, and this method also protects the precious trichomes that hold the terpenes and the naturals properties of the plant.

Production

7. Curing

The curing process is the grand finale of the harvest process and is done after all trimming has been completed. During the curing process, the flowers continue to dry very slowly which enriches the flowers’ flavor. Barrels used for the curing process are then stored in a cool, dark place where they can be examined daily during min 10 days.

Production

8. Extraction Process

The cannabis that we don’t use as buds for pre-rolls and loose-leaf flower is converted into cannabis oil. This involves CO2 extraction, which is far purer than ethanol extraction. Furthermore we distil the crude oil to remove impurities and ensure a 90%+ CBD level.

Production

9. Analyse

All our products are tested from the flowering step to the curing to ensure that they fit into all regulations. This step is required by national authorities to ensure the good legality of all our products. Our testing is done by our engineers using our HPLC machine which states CBD/THC levels, and third-party testers such as the national authorities.

Production

10. Storage

After ensuring that our finished products meet all criteria regarding quality and legality, we store our flowers in 1kg bags or 10kg barrels to avoid degradation.

The only way to prevent this degradation is to replace the surrounding oxygen in the packaging with an inert gas such as nitrogen, which preserves the quality and efficacy of the product.
